Beach planting!

Yesterday morning we walked down to the beach to do some planting. There was a man from Nelmac called Steve. He showed us how to plant the grasses. They were American grasses.
The were called spinnifex. We planted them to stop erosion in the sand dunes.
Erosion is the wearing away of the sand by the tide and wind.
The process of planting a spinnifex is:
1.dig a hole about 30 cm deep. 2.put 1 canister of fertiliser in. 3.insert the spinnifex and cover its roots whith sand.
We found twelve crabs,a beetle and two sandhopper larve.
One of the crabs decided to get agressive and attacked Jordan's finger.
We planted over 400 plants.
Room 10 would like to thank Steve and the crew at Nelmac for letting us help with this project!!!
